I ordered a 5 pack of mags from Joe's and finally got to play with them a bit. Total cost was 75 bucks delivered, which for 5 mags made them a bit pricey. The 10 packs work out to be cheaper per unit- more so if the individual doing the ordering is not a NYS resident and can avoid the sales tax.
At 15 bucks per- I have high expectations. Some might call that cheap for a good 1911 magazine, but I am more fickle and frugal than most.
I cannot determine who made these mags by looking at them. Rumors abound as to who is manufacturing for Joe's mag mania, but frankly I cannot say with any more confidence than the forums who is the producer.
I can say I ordered the 8 round stainless mags with bumper pads, and they were delivered promptly. They are also fantastic as far as fit, and loading are concerned. I cycled them through my 3 1911s which take full size mags (didn't get a chance to cycle through the officer's sized 1911) and they seem like real winners.
Overall, I am pleased. Range testing is necessary before I give my final seal of approval, but I am going to give them a tentative 'thumbs up'.
